Boom, Villa get the season off with a bang!

Well, that wasn't a bad start to the season was it?

Maybe people are starting to believe that this season could be a very memorable one. I do - like most - still think that a striker and another quality midfielder for the right berth are needed but then, there aren't many clubs in the world who couldn't do with a top striker so maybe we'll just have to be patient?!

I asked on my site forum whether anyone thought Michael Owen would be a good idea, apparently most think not! IF you could guarantee his fitness, I think he'd get 30 a season at Villa because of the way we now play and the amount of supply from the feet of Barry and Young, however I do concede it is a big IF.

I must admit, I also think that Juan Pablo Angel would have been banging them in for fun if we'd had the same set up when he was here, he knew where the goal was, just the supply was always rubbish and he was not the sort to go looking for the ball was he?

I wonder what sort of answer we'd get if we put in a cheeky bid for Ruud van Nistelrooy?!?!?!

Anyway, off to Italy for a few days, so will leave you with my thoughts of the game: BANG BANG BANG - Villa Destroy City

I expect to get home in time to listen to us muller Stoke and then there is the battle royale with Liverpool. Is it our time to turn them over in style? Yeah, why not and for the icing on the cake, how about Barry scoring the winning goal!

You'd never get Van Nistelrooy and I'd be amazed if the Toon would let Owen go. Definitely think that we need a quality, proven striker - not Kevin Doyle.

You never know who you'd get unless you bid. We've had big players before, Villa are going places, are a big and known club and have a wealthy own and a well respected manager. I do agree that to attract the top class players CL is a major draw but then, we have the costa da Aston to offer, who could resist!? Right, got to pack... Can't find my handkerchief to knot!

Definitely agree that Ruud or Owen would be good but I can't see Ruud wanting to leave Madrid or Newcastle wanting to sell Owen. Their fans would go through the roof if they did.
