Wenger's wobbles are a big favour

ARE the big four now the big three? It's a simple question, but it's one which could change Aston Villa's entire outlook on the season.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea look as though they'll streak away from the rest over time, but Arsenal? I'm not so sure.

Yes, they're a talented bunch, but recent results and reports suggests their may be trouble at the Arsenal.

First we had Tottenham doing their 4-4 comeback trick all over again and now we've seen Arsene Wenger's charges outfought and outplayed by Stoke City.

Add to the melting pot Robin Van Persie getting himself suspended after picking up a straight red for his assault on Thomas Sorensen, Emmanuel Adebayor limping off and Theo Walcott injuring his shoulder and a once fearsome Arsenal side seems to have lost a lot of its bite.

These slip-ups certainly give someone from the best of the rest pack the chance to strike for that elusive fourth spot and the Champions League riches it would bring.

Could that be Villa? Well, Spurs now seem to be cut too far adrift, despite their recent heroics, to realistically climb the table enough, while megabucks Manchester City can't buy a win on the road.

The fact is that there will never be a better chance for Villa to shoot with the big guns. But Newcastle is no easy game and will be a real test of Martin O'Neill's men.

Slip-up and Villa are back scrapping with the pack and hoping that Arsenal's decline is terminal rather than a blip. But win and the signs are definitely there that Villa can throw a claret and blue spanner in the four-way battle for the big money spots.

As much as I allways have liked Villa - I still think Arsenal (my team), will come back in the race. We are struggeling at the moment - but I still think we have a great team. I cant believe that we suddenly have lost the ability to win matches.

WHEN Arsenal lose to manu're and we win our next 2 games, it will be down to the showdown at the emirates and even if Villa lose then there will still be daylight but, IN VILLA'S FAVOUR.

Singh is King - how very eloquent of you, your mother must be proud.

As for the rest of the Arsenal fans, thanks for the comments - although I would ask whether or not you realistically think you have the harmony in the dressing room or the personalities on the pitch to see through a serious challenge to the other three up there.

As an Arsenal fan, I think with only 6 points gap we are still a chance for the title. However I am clinging on to this hope and realistically we will struggle to sustain a title challenge.
Good luck Villa for the season - you play good football and do us a favour and beat the other top 3 and a good shellacking of Spurs wouldnt go astray either
